Senior year is the year where you are finally on top. The year where you make some of the last memories you will have with the peers you grew up with. So, why not have the pictures to commemorate it? Seniors are definitely some of my favorite people to shoot! Not only is each session a blast, but we have a great opportunity to get some creative and unique images that represent YOU! During our session, I will give you all of the right poses and prompts to make you feel confident in your own skin and excited to see the product! I can't wait to meet you and take some fun pictures that you, your family, and your friends will love.

The sessions listed above open a great opportunity to capture moments with people you love most and create fun memories with one another. I will do 1-2 mini sessions date each year which are the only times I will be offering family photos as an option. If you would like to schedule a session for your immediate family or with your bff's, I recommend following either my Instagram (@darraghgphotos) or my Facebook (Darragh Goeckel Photography) where mini session dates will be posted when available. You will be able to get a decent number of quality images at an affordable price in a convenient amount of time with these mini sessions! The mini package is better suited for large/extended families as the time is fully utilized. I can't wait to hear from you and if you have more questions, don't be afraid to ask!
FAQ
What should I wear for my senior session?
1. To start, I would wear at least one casual and one dressy outfit.
A good casual outfit would be a pair of jeans or shorts and a cute top or tank top.
A good dressy outfit would be a dress, skirt, or romper. Flowy dresses are personally my favorite for pictures. Whether it is a skirt or dress, both long and short dresses look cute, though- pick the one that fits best with the vibe you are going for!
2. A third outfit option that is always great would be a personality outfit! It can be your favorite outfit/an outfit that shows off your style, a t-shirt of the college you plan on going to, a sports jersey, just something that shows you!
3. Stick to your own style!
Don't wear something just because that's what your friends would wear. Wear something that you love and feel confident in, something that is 100% you!
4. Now time for colors! A big thing is to make sure the colors match. Stick to neutral, earthy, or pastel colors. Try to stay away from neons, super bright colors can be distracting and take away from the subject being YOU! Examples of alternative colors: bright yellow > mustard, purple/magenta > eggplant/plum, bright orange > rust.
5. Pick something that is comfortable and you can move around in.
6. Accessorize!! Accessories can make an outfit that much cuter, whether it is an adorable hat, a jean jacket, a hair scarf, or some cute jewelry.
7. Bring options! I'm always here to help you pick out your outfits, whether its before the session or at the session. If you're debating between two tops or three outfits, I am more than happy to help. Before your session, send me pictures of your outfits and I can help you figure out what outfits would work best with certain locations.
Where will the session take place?
I have a varied list of locations both with urban and natural options that I will send to you to chose from when you book a session with me!
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in mid-Michigan between Lansing and Grand Rapids. As for traveling, I LOVE to travel! I am always up for an adventure and love visiting new places and experiencing new cultures. However, there are travel fees associated with my services. I am always looking for the best deal, though and will get the best price for my travels!
What should I wear for my engagement session?
1. In terms of colors, I always recommend staying away from neons or similar colors. I've found that neons can affect the color formatting of the image. When it comes to picking the right color, I would pick something that fits with your wedding color scheme or is neutral for at least one of your outfits!
2. Bring options! I'm always here to help you pick out your outfits, whether its before the session or at the session. If you're debating between two tops or three outfits, I am more than happy to help. Before your session, send me pictures of your outfits and I can help you figure out what outfits would work best with certain locations.
3. Wear something that is comfortable and that you feel confident in! You don't want to be spending your session worrying about fixing your clothes, but instead focusing on having fun.
4. Avoid distracting clothing such as ones with large logos or lettering.
What if I'm/we are awkward and uncomfortable in front of the camera?
Don't worry about that at all! My job is to give you all of the right guidance and encouragement to make sure you feel confident, have fun, and overall feel comfortable. I will give you all of the directions you need to look and feel great in front of the camera!
Do you have a studio?
I do not have a studio. However, it is not difficult to rent a studio space as an added cost to your investment if you are interested. There are plenty of rentable studio spaces in the Lansing and Grand Rapids areas that we can go over if this is something you would like to invest in!
What equipment do you use?
I use a Canon 6D Mark II as my camera body. As for lenses, my two favorites are my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens and my Canon 50 mm f/1.8 lens!
How will I get my photos?
I will deliver your photos to you through a link to a private online gallery that will have all of your pictures. The season will definitely influence how fast I get your pictures back to you. In the fall months leading up to Christmas, it is a very busy season! I also have school during this time which makes it that much busier. My goal is to get all of your pictures to you within 6 weeks during that time period. In slower seasons, I am normally able to get your photos to you in under two weeks, however.
What if the weather is bad during our session?
If the weather ends up being bad during our session, we can reschedule with no extra fee.
